Every child a wanted child… The Jane Fund of Central Massachusetts offers financial help to women who cannot afford abortion services. The Jane Fund helps women who cannot afford abortion services, who don’t have insurance, or whose insurance will not pay for an abortion. Women who receive assistance from the Jane Fund are encouraged to pay the fund back when and if they are financially able to do so, so that other women might benefit from this kind of resource. The fund is supported entirely by financial gifts that are solely used to provide abortion services. The fund itself is administered by a small volunteer staff working mainly in conjunction with the Planned Parenthood Clinic of Central Massachusetts. Grants are also received to help offset administrative costs. The Jane Fund of Central Massachusetts is an affiliate of the National Network of Abortion Funds.
It was the early 1990’s in greater Worcester County. It started with a phone call. She was eighteen and pregnant; she’d been raped by a family member. She was scared and alone. Could we help? And with the help of many people, we did. Over time, what began as a response among a few friends and neighbors to one phone call has become the Jane Fund of Central Massachusetts, an organization committed to making abortion accessible to all women, especially the working poor. We incorporated as a 501(c) 3 non-profit charitable organization in 1996. All donations to the Jane Fund are tax-deductible. We rely on your donations to make Choice a reality for women in need.
